||The original company was founded in 1967 by current owner and principal broker Tony de Movellan. His son, Anthony de Movellan, the operations manager, has been with the company for 26 years. In 1973, the company became known as A.S. de Movellan Real Estate, Inc., and quickly gained a reputation as one of the most highly respected and sought after real estate firms in Central Kentucky. In May of 1989, the company became an affiliate of Prudential Real Estate affiliates and operated for 25 years as Prudential A.S. de Movellan Real Estate.
On February 25, 2014, the company became Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices de Movellan Properties. The seeds for this new era were sown when Berkshire Hathaway, one of the most respected companies in the world, acquired Prudential Real Estate Affiliates with the aim of building the best real estate franchise system in the world.
